Speaker 1: Good morning, everybody. It's tie from Total Disclosure. I had
Speaker 1: the chance to see Disclosure Day last night, Disclosure Day
Speaker 1: last night, and I wanted to give a little bit
Speaker 1: of context to some of the things that have answered
Speaker 1: on X or just in terms of talking to people
Speaker 1: I didn't now. I probably should preface this by saying
Speaker 1: I am not always been the biggest Spielberg fan in general.
Speaker 1: I am definitely more of a like Chris Nolan. I
Speaker 1: love dialogue, I love set up. I love you know, giant,
Speaker 1: really really deep psychological you know, things don't have to
Speaker 1: blow up for me to enjoy a film, right, So
Speaker 1: you do want to preface that. I'm sure a lot
Speaker 1: of people like really enjoyed Disclosure Day. Out of ten,
Speaker 1: I gave it a six. First two acts little shaky,
Speaker 1: it comes out of the gate. What I will say
Speaker 1: is it tries to come out of the gate. All
Speaker 1: It comes out of the gate like right into the
Speaker 1: middle of the action, almost kind of like that movie
Speaker 1: The Fugitive, where it feels like it starts in the
Speaker 1: middle of act one, right, and then you're playing ketchup
Speaker 1: trying to figure out what's going on. And I'm not
Speaker 1: going I like that but the execution was off. It
Speaker 1: felt cheap. The dial from the dialogue all the way
Speaker 1: to the generic bad guys who are always nameless but
Speaker 1: have every tool that they need for every single scenario
Speaker 1: at hand. It's very convenient. The themes, the tones, the
Speaker 1: real life mirrors are all there. The the puzzle was there,
Speaker 1: it was the execution that I thought felt a little flat.
Speaker 1: Stand out for me was Emily Blunt's character, the whistleblower guy.
Speaker 1: He was good, but not as good as I was hoping, like,
Speaker 1: I didn't really understand a lot of his motivation aside
Speaker 1: from full disclosure all at once, and it's not until
Speaker 1: a little later on that you understand why he's doing
Speaker 1: what he's doing. But even that becomes a little hazy
Speaker 1: until the end, which is a I mean, that's fine,
Speaker 1: but the acting was a little meh in places. They
Speaker 1: didn't explore what I wanted to explored, and they explored
Speaker 1: what I didn't care or need to be explored. So
Speaker 1: I didn't hear a lot of reaction from the crowd.
Speaker 1: I didn't hear a lot of laughs for the funny
Speaker 1: quote unquote funny stuff, which was funny, I suppose, but
Speaker 1: that's not why I was there, and the action it
Speaker 1: wasn't even up to like a Spielberg's par and the
Speaker 1: visual effects were driving me crazy, like how does two
Speaker 1: thousand and eight Iron Man look better than a fox?
Speaker 1: A fox? Just a fox? Or a deer one deer
Speaker 1: like it? It kept taking me out that much, and
Speaker 1: that was very frustrating. So, of course, of course people
Speaker 1: are gonna enjoy the movie for what it is. That's fine.
Speaker 1: I honestly implore that art is one of those things
Speaker 1: where people see it differently. I'm sure a lot of
Speaker 1: people in the UFO community specifically might even enjoy the film,
Speaker 1: but I was hoping for something a little bit more
Speaker 1: serious in tone and more fleshed out, more relaying the
Speaker 1: information throughout and not it right at the end. The
Speaker 1: stuff that you were expecting to see throughout the film
Speaker 1: isn't until the third act, at the very very end,
Speaker 1: and that was probably my favorite moment. But it didn't
Speaker 1: play as well as I thought it was going to
Speaker 1: because of the continually continuously missed setups and the convenience, like, oh,
Speaker 1: that was convenient that that happened for them, That was convenient.
Speaker 1: Up that was short convenient because if that didn't happen.
Speaker 1: This couldn't happen. It was a lot of convenience, generic
Speaker 1: bad guys with you know, shitty aim. It's like as
Speaker 1: many tropes as I could talk about were instilled in
Speaker 1: this so as far as execution, it just didn't hold
Speaker 1: up to my standards. And I'm not going to pretend
Speaker 1: it because it's about UFOs, because it was. I don't
Speaker 1: want to go there. I don't want to go there
Speaker 1: just yet. But also, this whole thing is much more
Speaker 1: a human story and then what it's being advertised as.
Speaker 1: It's all I'll say for now, go see the movie.
Speaker 1: Let me know what you think in the comments below. Guys,
Speaker 1: what are your overall thoughts? Do you agree with me?
Speaker 1: Do you not? Am I crazy? Has Spielberg kind of
Speaker 1: lost his touch with what it is a film can
Speaker 1: be in twenty twenty six? And please I want someone
Speaker 1: to comment on the visual effects because I was utterly,
Speaker 1: like speaking out loud to myself in the theater, like
Speaker 1: I can't believe that this is what I'm looking at
Speaker 1: right now. I can't believe it. The Fox. It drove
Speaker 1: me insane, how terrible it looked. It's like visual effects
Speaker 1: have just become secondary, and that's not how you need
Speaker 1: to approach things. So overall good movie, no decent movie,
Speaker 1: decent watchaball changing anything. No no, So maybe we'll get
Speaker 1: them next time. This is tie, This is total disclosure. Peace,
Podbean
